Roald Dahl’s great quote…
…is popular in the tea room.
Likely, most Tarts love the saying, even live by it.
And why not?
Sometimes the unseen can be glimpsed in the visible world. If we have the eyes to see, an open heart and mind.
I truly believe that.
So I was intrigued to spot these ’round footsteps’ on a recent walk..
I should have put my foot next to one of them so you could see how large they were: big as dinner plates.
I have no idea what they were.
The odd thing is they ‘were just there,’ near the water’s edge as you can see. That is the bay, by the way. There weren’t any other marks of any kind anywhere near them.
So what are they and how did they get there?
A truck or other vehicle couldn’t have brought something heavy to rest on the spot - this is a walking path only.
Landscaping equipment leaves tracks on the path. I know because I walk this shell path daily. I have never seen any such ‘giant round footsteps.’ And isn’t it odd how they lead into the water?
Here are two more, a bit farther along the path..
I don’t think the Florida Skunk Ape swam over to my wee island for a visit.
The marks did push my whimsy button.
Simply because they were ‘just there,’ where they were. Not a shell on the path disturbed anywhere around them. So maybe it was a huge, long-legged, round-footed sea beastie?
A Florida Nessie out for a stroll in the small hours of the night?
It’ll likely remain a mystery. Unless any of you have a good explanation?
Either way, work-plagued as I have been in recent days, the ‘monster footprints’ brought a most-welcome smile.
Here’s wishing you magick in your world, too.
