Need An Escape?

Ever wish you could step through a magical door and be somewhere else? Anywhere but the place known as reality? Books open such doors, whisking us away to different worlds and times.

Here’s something else to try…

A Secret Door to take you somewhere else, instantly. And you never know ‘where’ you’ll find yourself.

Doesn’t it look mysterious?

A - The Secret Door

And it is!

Because every time you open the door, you’re transported to a new and unexpected corner of the world.

Are you ready to see where the door will take you?

If so, click here.

It’s whisked me to some really neat spots: at the rail of an ‘ice-breaker’ ship near the North Pole. (you know I loved that!) And beside a railroad track through an autumn-dressed gorge, complete with a river, colorful leaves, and mist. I think Devorgilla wriggled her fingers so the Secret Door would take me to places I’d love.

And no worries if you don’t like your view…

Just click on ‘Take Me Somewhere Else’ at the top left of the sidebar and you’re on your way elsewhere.

The places you’ll go are hosted by Google Street View, so you can use your mouse to move about and explore once you get there – if you like the place, of course.

This magical door is made possible by a UK window and door replacement company called Safe Style.

I’m thinking whoever runs the business must appreciate whimsy.

And aren’t we glad?

Enjoy stepping through the Secret Door!

Have a wonderful Sunday.

**Edited to add: The History Channel’s new series The Vikings airs tonight at 10 p.m. EST.

I’ll be watching, mead horn at hand!

OMG!! Sue-Ellen that was awesome! It took me to a museum with an Alaskan exhibit. I am going back later to play.

I am almost done with my mystery post. It will be scheduled for Thursday.

I have spent the last hour traveling all over the world. Thank you so much for sharing. Highland blessing for you my friend. Tons of hugs and loads of love.

Hey Sue Ellen, that was totally awesome! I loved Mrs Chilis, the museum in Jerusalem and the South Pole! Absolutely fantastic tours to take on a Sunday – wow! Thanks so much for this magnificent experience!

I’m a huge fan of Google anything and love this! I just have to mention that my husband (avid photographer) has a fascination with photographing doors. I keep telling him that he needs to put together a collection. They range from the classic European doors to ones in a cemetery.

Thanks for sharing. I’m off to be transported again…sigh…

How do you bookmark this door? I want to go back even though it took me to the Arctic Circle and it’s freezing here in Florida today! Did you see the video of snow in Venice on the Weather Channel this morning? Can you believe this weather? Thanks for the Secret Door!

    • Sorry, Trudy, I am laughing down here – you would be transported straight to the Arctic, on such a cold day here. ((:O I think the gods were playing a joke on you. (I have been LOVING the cold weather – was out cycling and on the beach all afternoon/evening)

Bookmarking it is easy. Just click on the link in this post (so the Secret Door opens to fill your screen) and then click on your Internet server’s “Add To Favorites” and it’ll be saved.

If that doesn’t work, you can always find it in here. Just use the Tartan Ink “search box” up at the top of the left-hand sidebar and type in “Escape” as that word is used in this post header. The screen will then give you the option to see this post again and you can re-visit it that way.

But the first option (“Adding To Favorites”) should save the original site for you.

Someone more techy-minded than me might want to chime in if you have trouble with it.

    • PS – No, I hadn’t heard about snow in Venice. Holy moly! I will have to look for the news clip. Wow!
