Here Be Dragons

If you’ve been visiting the tea room for long, you’ve surely seen me fuss about deadline dragons.

In truth, I love them.

Without such beasties, I’d be out of work.  That’s a very good reason to look upon them kindly.

I always smile when I see one.

You’ll surely remember when I shared this sky dragon recently..

A - SE - Sea Dragon

It was so nice of him to join me on a beach walk, wasn’t it?

Something even neater happened today.

A very special dragon showed up on my doorstep.

Yep, it’s true.

See for yourself..

??????????Isn’t he a beauty?

And doesn’t he look grand in his new home, surrounded by some of my favorite rocks?

He came to me by magic, of course.  Though if you keep it a secret, I’ll tell you that a very special friend helped him get here.  One of you, actually.  Someone who believes in magic as much as I do.

And wasn’t it kind of her to send such a handsome fellow my way?

I am calling him Slag.

If you’ve read Kendrew’s Temptation of a Highland Scoundrel, you’ll know that Slag was a very special dreagan in that book.

And now he has pride of place on my desk..

A - SE - Deadline Dragon I

He is actually a Book Wyrm ‘Tender is the Knight’ dragon.  (Click here to see him up close)

To me, he is Slag.

Especially as he arrived today, in the midst of a really wicked storm.  In Temptation of a Highland Scoundrel, Slag was afraid of thunder.

So it’s a good name for him.

And I am thrilled to bits to have him.  He’ll be my deadline mascot and see me through the scariest crunch times, always making me smile.

Here’s wishing you lots of smiles today, too.

And if a dragon lands on your doorstep, please be kind to him.

To my special friend who sent Slag to me – THANK YOU!!  (I know you’ll see this)

Sue-Ellen how special! He is just perfect for your desk. Thanks for sharing him. Oh I do believe in magic!

  2. I have the biggest smile on my face! As soon as I saw a picture of him I thought of Slag. :D What a beautiful gift to received!

My heart is still in the Glen and probably will be for a long time to come.

  3. He’s gorgeous–or is it a she? How does one tell on dragons! I love them too and have several small likenesses around my home. Did anyone see an ad some time back for a figurine collection that was a rock band made comprised all of dragons? It was awesome-kewl! SE–if you read this please email or call me asap–have a proposition but must act promptly!! Huge hugs and dragon-wings!!

Slag looks right at home among the rocks (he’s such a handsome devil, too). I just know that he will watch over you and bring you good fortune.

Sue-Ellen, please look at an email I just sent you. Looking for your opinion.

He is the neatest thing on 2 levels – one being the name of your book and the fact that one of your fans was able to find him – a terrific feat to be sure!

What a wonderful dragon. Best of all, he comes with his own books. Too bad the design is sold out and retired. Enjoy him. I am sure he will be a help for those deadlines.

I know just what storm he arrived in too! The one that brought the waterspout/tornado to Tampa! :) Now you and I know that was no accident either, don’t we? Do enjoy Slag and think of your friend when you look at him.
