Good Morning Tarts!
On Saturday Sue-Ellen’s post about Eddie the Otter brought out a few more inspiring animal stories. I looked up the story of Ginger the basset hound so that you all could see her and read the full story. If you would like to see the beautiful dog click here.
Then Trudy mentioned Winter the Dolphin and her prosthetic tail. Amazingly enough, I had never heard of Winter. If you would like to learn about Winter there are many videos on YouTube. I randomly picked one of a shorter length, watched it and thought it a good introduction to Winter. It brought out her story and also the making of a Dolphin Tale.
After learning about Winter I was reminded of a story I had heard earlier this past week. It was of Yu Chan the Sea Turtle. Yu Chan has no front flipper. Yu Chan lives in Japan and has gone through 26 prosthetic flippers and is now on the 27th pair.
These are all wonderful stories that I thought needed their own space here in the tea room and not to be buried in the comments. This way we can all cheer these wonderful animals on. I found these are just a few of the stories out there.

Morning, Kathy! What a neat idea to expand on Eddie’s post. These are great stories, indeed. Ginger’s bothers me a bit. I believe the wife should have offered her to the ex before taking the poor dog to a shelter. But thank goodness Ginger is safe and loved again now. That’s all that matters.
Afternoon Sue-Ellen! Yes, I thought there was enough for a good post here. I found a number of other stories while following through on these. There is enough for another couple of future post. I am just glad Ginger has had a good life and will continue to be well loved.
Thank you for sharing these, Kathy! Animal feel good stories always make my day.
Your welcome, Leah! I thought they were to good to be just noted in the comments.
Thank you for mentioning Winter, although I’m surprised you hadn’t heard of her because of the movie. Of course, since I live here where it all occurred from the time she was rescued, the artificial tail was created and then the movie came to be, it’s been big news here for years. Actually, the whole thing has become a tourist attraction as the movie sets have been left behind too. Still, Winter’s story is inspiring since she continues to inspire people who have lost a limb when they come to see her. Thanks again for the mention.
Your welcome, Trudy. I don’t follow the movies, only picking up on a few if there is a big to do in the store or if I happen to catch a trailer on TV. The TV thing rarely happens. I was glad to share Winter’s story.
