It’s getting late on Friday evening. As so often, I was pondering pets and how much I love them.
I believe it’s so important to make our fur-darlings feel as if they are king or queen of the world.
No, make that the universe.
S-o-o-o, I loved seeing this kittie’s self-confidence..
I just LOVE when a cat or dog feels this good in their skin, knows and believes that he or she is THE BEST of them all.
And so they are.
Every last one of them.
No single dog or cat is ever ‘the most wonderful.’ They ALL are. Leastways in the eyes and heart of their human.
And that is good so.
We can’t save them all, sadly. But we can sure can make one (or a few) feel like kings and queens of the world.
And nothing warms the heart more than seeing a once-lost and needy stray blossom into a secure and well-loved pet.
Have a great Friday night, Tarts!

Hey Sue Ellen, our little ‘rescue’ is definitely ‘king’ in our house for the short time (less than 4 months) he has become ‘family’.. Being 4 years old and weighing only 15 pounds but built like a small bull, he tends to take more than his ‘share’ of our bed – and I NEVER thought I’d ever have a dog in my bed – LOL! But he is the joy of our lives and we love him greatly, which he definitely knows because of the love he returns!
This is wonderful, Barb. What a little sweetie!! I love that he’s king at your house. And I really love that he’s made it into your bed.
Em sleeps curled against the backs of my knees and it’s so comforting to feel his soft, warm weight pressed so snugly against me. Please give him some loving from me.
Nicely said. I just love LOLcats. I too wish I could help them all but like you, I do what I can. At the moment I have one taking up most of my chair and another on my desk lol.
Oh, I love LOLcats, too. Could spend my entire day in there. ((:O Likewise the “Dogshaming” site. Dear heavens, to that one! This picture must be making the rounds. I saw it on a German cat site. Ha ah.. they sure do know how to claim chairs, don’t they? Or keyboards. Beds. Laps. Whatever newspaper or magazine you might be trying to read. Etc. etc. And we just smile and find their space-stealing capers adorable. (the mark of a true animal lover – not moving even when your arm and leg falls asleep because doing so will disturb them)
I have to tell you a funny story. Denny saw a pic on Facebook that showed two boxes that looked like they had been blown into a yard by the wind and in them sat two cats and the caption said. ” Yes my kitty cat traps are working!” Now here’s the even funnier part. Our youngest Maddy brought in a medium sized box she wanted to decorate for a V-day mailbox. I told her it was too big so she tossed in onto the floor under the junk table and we decorated a smaller and better sized box. When we got up the next morning one of our cats was sitting in the box. So we told Maddy her kitty cat trap worked. Every day the cats take turns sitting and sleeping in the box and every time she walks by she now says , “It’s working , I caught another cat!” I’ll have to take a pic and post it so you all can laugh.
Z
Oh, that’s so sweet, Z! Too cute!!
I can just see little Maddy’s delight each time she discovers new ‘proof’ that her trap works. I’d love to see a picture. Sounds so sweet, you know everyone would love it. Thanks so much for the smiles tonight. (((HUGS)))
Oh Sue-Ellen, when I saw this photo my heart did a flip. It so looks like the one my parents had. He was such a character and definitely a “ladies man.”
You’re so right! They all are special. I spent one of my days this past week surrounded my sheep, chickens, ducks, and one yellow tabby who thought he was lord and master of the castle…hahaha!! We loved it!
Hope you had an exciting and fun week on your blog tour.
Welcome back, Mary!! I’ve been thinking of you and knew you were having the grandest time this week. Sounds even more splendid than I imagined with so many animals about. Love that!!
Especially the yellow tabby.
Oh, I can imagine your heart clutched to see a cat who looks so strongly like a beloved cat from your past. That would get to me, too. As I believe, the moment of recognition will have brought your old darling to you in spirit tonight. He’ll have felt your thoughts and your heart warming with love for him.
The blog tour has been a whirlwind. It’s been fun and the hosting bloggers have been fantastic. Very friendly and enthusiastic, doing beautiful features for us. They’ve made it run smoothly and many of our Tarts have been following along, which I appreciate so much. Tomorrow is the last day and then it’s really time for me to launch back into my running deadlines.
This was so cute!
I have a picture of penguins in kilts I’ll send in the email with the reviews I’m posting later this evening. I thought of you when I saw it.
Isn’t his expression a hoot? I just love it! He knows he’s loved and special. And how I wish they could all know that feeling. They should!!
Can’t wait to see the kilted penguins. How cute!! Thank you! Likewise for the reviews. It’s very good of you to do them. Thank you so much – especially for emailing them. (you know I wouldn’t see them otherwise) So thank you!!
Hi Sue-Ellen,
Sorry I wasn’t able to participate today, I had a “procedure” done on my back. So, I’ll be under the weather for a couple days. No biggie though. I wanted to let you know I am such a better person because of my two furry kids. I thought I would try add a couple of snap shots to show them off “a little”. This handsome devil is my boyfriend, affectionately, known as Bruiser, registered as King Reginald. His sister is my little princess, Daisy Mae. She’s getting belly rubs from her Aunt Nancy, my wonderful sister. Enjoy the furry kids. We only have them such a short time. But I think it’s God way of saying love for the moment, each one counts and their is always room in hearts to love again.
I’m trying to figure out how to send my pictures to you. Let me see if I can this early in the AM.
Highland blessings! Hugs
Connie, I would love to meet Bruiser and Daisy Mae. I’m so sorry their pictures didn’t appear in here. If you email them to me, I’ll post them in the tea room sometime this week so everyone can say hello to them.
You’re so right about how much they influence us. Whenever we’re down or upset or ill or whatever, all it takes is one look into a pet’s loving eyes and the world is good again.
LMAO! Love the kitty picture, Sue-Ellen. Truer words were never spoken.
Have a great weekend. Love u! xoxoxoxo
Isn’t that precious, Mel? I knew you’d love it, too.
XXOOXX
PS – Eat some of that chocolate for me this weekend, okay?
Oh Sue-Ellen, how perfect! Yes, we are a family where you do not disturb the pets. Sorry I went to bed early last night.
Yep, true animal lovers ignore limbs that fall asleep, invisible ‘stink clouds,’ old dog/cat breath, pet hair, pets hogging chairs and beds, pet snores (no matter how loud) and we will walk them in all weathers, brave any danger or discomfort, etc, etc…
Far from it, such things usually make us smile and endear them to us all the more, bless them every one!
Go pets!
Oh yeah – I have a King and Queen living with me and believe me the Queen rules the house!
